A massive 8.8 earthquake shook Chile this morning.
At least 723 deaths resulting from the effects earthquake have been reported. (Updated 03/01/10)
This has also triggered Tsunami warnings for the Pacific basin.
Chile continues to experience aftershocks (the highest one reported so far was 6.9).
Santiago has reported loss of electricity as well as running water and telephone service.
A bridge that connects northern and southern chile was damaged badly (leaving it inoperable).
