“But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.” (I Peter 4:15)
busybody: a person who pries into or meddles in the affairs of others (dictionary.com)
I find it interesting that Peter lists ‘busybodies‘ right beside ‘murderers’, ‘thieves’, ‘evil-doers’.
Are you taking your brothers and sisters to the Lord in prayer, or are you getting on the phone or Facebook and running them down, or sharing things about them that you should keep between you and Jesus?
Paul talked about those who are “not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not” *, and that “there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies” **.
“Now, don’t you listen to one foul thing the devil’s got to say. See? If the devil shows you some, or tells you something evil about one of the members of the body of Christ, don’t you believe it. For as soon as you believe it, you mar your experience.” ~ Rev. William Marrion Branham (59-1227E)
