As much as I talk about Unity – we have to have a unity section! It just wouldn’t be right without it. I’ve been finding / hearing so many quotes on unity lately – it’s really been a blessing.

I read these two scriptures today that I thought went along with my topic in Tucson two weekends ago so perfectly that I wanted to share it with you brothers.

“He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.” -Proverbs 17:9

“A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.” -Proverbs 18:19

That’s pretty powerful to think about! David (a warrior from his youth) likened an offended brother harder to win back than an entire strong city!

Paul said; “Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.” -I CORINTHIANS 8:13

James said it like this; “For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. ” -JAMES 3:2

So many times we speak before we think or pray about it, and wind up losing a brother or sister by our words – which we may have meant nothing wrong by, but our attitude or timing made it come out in a way that scars that brother or sister more than we may realize. Then ten years down the road they’ve built up such a complex over that one thing (letting it eat at them and letting other things build up on top of it) that winning them back is practically impossible without the Lord changing their heart.

It’s sad how often we see things like this around the message, and us ministers (especially the pastors with their own sheep) need to go (in some way) to the brothers and sisters in our churches and keep these things from hindering the church and the Bride universal. Sisters mad at sisters over something that happened five years ago – brothers mad at brothers for something that may have just been a rumor or a feeling but turned into a complex.

I don’t mean go up and tell these brothers and sisters they ‘HAVE’ to make things right with one another – but let’s do something! Whether it’s speaking a kind word about the other person – or preaching things like this from the pulpit – or seeing if the ones with differences will sit down and talk it over with you present and in a Christian attitude…

The ball’s got to start rolling somewhere – let the work begin in us Lord! Let’s follow His leading. Where He leads me I will follow.

God bless you my brothers,

-Brother Nathan

You don’t tell people everything like that. You… There’s things happening you just don’t tell them. It’s not necessary to tell them. I just tell people things that I think’s going to help them, when the Lord presses me to tell them, say, “Say this.” You wouldn’t want to tell everything you seen, because that wouldn’t be right (You see?); you just… Of course, you’d get in trouble and everything else like that. You have to know how to handle those things by the Spirit of the Lord.
I’ve had people stand before me and ask me questions, I know exactly, but I wouldn’t tell them, because I just felt constrained not to do it. You remember, I believe was last Wednesday night I preached on “A Prisoner”? See? See, you want to tell that person, but Something says, “Don’t do it.” The Spirit said, “Don’t do it. Don’t do it.” Yet a gift is looking right at it. See? “Don’t do it. Don’t do it.” See, so you better not do it; then you’re in trouble with God.
